Ponder this: "We know that things will happen to disrupt our peace of mind. We live in a fallen world, and things happen to everyone. But whether a disruption lasts a long time or a brief moment depends on us. It is our choice. I know that is true. Sister Clark and I have faced many storms in our lives. In those experiences we have learned that we have to choose to look into the mirror of Christ. It requires an act of both faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and personal determination. Our natural instincts will take us right to the mirror of fear. But we have our agency, and we don't have to take counsel from our fears. We can choose hope and say, "I am not going to look into the mirror of fear. I am going to fix my eyes on the mirror of Christ, trust the Lord, and act in faith."
I know from my own experience that if you choose the mirror of Christ you authorize the Holy Ghost to minister to you. He will "show unto you all things what ye should do." Your feelings of self-worth and confidence in the Lord will grow, and peace of mind will return. You will go forward, acting in faith to face the storm and work through it. This is the path of the peacemaker.

Feeling the influence of the Holy Ghost works both ways: the Holy Ghost only dwells in a clean temple, and the reception of the Holy Ghost cleanses us through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. You can pray with faith to know what to do to be cleansed and thus qualified for the companionship of the Holy Ghost and the service of the Lord.

Message for Today: ~ Why the Covenant Path ~

MY THOUGHTS:
This week we had one of the best days of our mission and on of the hardest days of our mission. Let me explain.
We dropped in on a family. They were not happy to see us and asked why we were trying to contact them, they are happy with their church and our church believed that the prophet would get them back to heaven. (well, there was a misunderstanding) We testified that Jesus Christ was the begotten son of God and it is through his atonement in the garden and on the cross is the only way we are saved and can return to our Heavenly Father. We talked more and got acquainted with them and left feeling like we may have planted some seeds of understanding. Later that day we dropped off a gift of the Book of Mormon to a woman we met last week in Home Depot. She was so happy we thought of her and said she would read the book because she loved reading about God. That was the good day.
The hardest day was when we stopped and talked with a couple and just had a chat with no purpose but to get to know them. We left and drove to another home and stopped. I had an overwhelming feeling of being lost, not in our physical location but it what our purpose was in going to see them. We had no message to share with them and I was LOST and in the dark, without a purpose. (After the speech I will tell the rest of the story.)

We didn't go into that home but went back to our apartment and prayed, studied, and discussed our purpose. It is basicly the same as all missionaries. To invited and help others come unto Jesus Christ through Faith in Jesus Christ, Baptism, Receiving the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the end. Since we are working with inactive members and newly baptized members we redefined our purpose as: to help others stay on the covenant path.
The lost feelings left, the lack of motivation left, the dark feelings, left and through our prayers, study and discussion we received the strength and power we needed to continue our finding and teaching

It is important that you know the consequences of sin. It is death. Not physical death but spiritual death. You cannot be with Father in Heaven nor your family. Learn the words of God through the scriptures and prayer. They will give you the way to eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord. Listen to the spirit and hear how much you are loved and wanted by a loving Father in Heaven and by me. "Feast upon that which perisheth not, neither can be corrupted..." The world is in commotion but you can be at peace and live in joy!

When you seek to hear the voice of the Lord, He will speak peace to your soul. And if you listen carefully you will hear how much He loves you and wants you to come unto Him, follow Him, learn of Him. be like Him and it will be easy because He will help you along your way each day each step until you are filled with joy and light!

My thoughts: Being here in the Office of the Tennessee Knoxville Mission has been a challenge for me. My Secretarial skills are few. My organizational skill are fantastic, but I don't know enough to organize let alone eliminate files that might be needed. So after a crying melt down on a Friday night (a couple of weeks ago) we went to Stake Conference on Saturday and Sunday where the messages of love and dedication inspired me to quit murmuring and go and do what needed to be done. I began to see what I needed to do. Letters I needed to type and people I needed to contact began to come easier to me. But murmuring was still in my mind. So, I asked forgiveness and for the Lord's help; and that is when miracles (tender mercies) began to happen. They are too mission specific to mention here. But I know that when you ask for help you receive help, when you pray for miracles you receive miracles, when you trust the Lord you don't need to be anxious and worry. He will give you peace so you can hear what He is saying. My faith, which I thought was strong, is growing more and more each day. That alone is a tender mercy from the Lord.

OPENING THOUGHTS: As a child each time I disobeyed my parents or did something wrong I had the impression I had sinned badly and was not going to make it to heaven. Perhaps you too had these erroneous thoughts. Hopefully this video will clear up those thoughts and maybe others as well.

Pray and Believe

MY THOUGHTS:
While attending Mountain Logan Stake Conference in January, I was given an answer to my prayers. I have been asking for help in having my motivation and desire returned to me after a stroke in Spring of 2021.
I heard the words "I love you the way you are." A feeling of peace and acceptance followed those words .I knew the Lord loved me the way I wasbefore my stroke but when I realized He loved me as I am now I thought, "I needed to love me as I am now too" Doing this has helped me put my old good habits back into my life.

I am grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost who helps me discern between good and evil, right and wrong, and truth and error.
"May we recognize Satan’s deceptions for what they are. We must continue to be faithful and vigilant, for so is the only way to discern truth and to hear the voice of the Lord through His servants. As we obey the Lord’s commandments, we will always be led in the right way and will not be deceived."
